International Vulture Awareness Day is around the corner- which is on September 4, 2021. Like previous years Himalayan Nature is organizing events to celebrate this day- but there will be limited events due to COVID pandemics. Our activities will be in two places – Koshi and Nawalparasi. In Koshi we are organizing a presentation and vulture watch event for students at Kosi Bird Observatory (KBO)- a research centre of Himalayan Nature. Students from the local communities will be attending the presentation and they will be taken to the Vulture Restaurant, which is about 5 km from KBO at Ramdhuni Forest. At Vulture Restaurant, students will be engaged in vulture watching and counting as well as interacting with the vulture restaurant management committee.

This event at Koshi will lead by our field ornithologist Sanjib Acharya (sanzeev.acharya@gmail.com).

In Nawalparasi we are organizing a vulture watch event for the local youths at Koluwa. Seejan Gyawali (sgyawali83@gmail.com) will lead this event.

Interested members can join both of the events.
